Yucca Pointe - Custom xeriscapes
A subsidiary of Nate's Tree Service
Our company provides design and installation of xeriscapes (low maintenance, eco-friendly landscapes that require minimal irrigation). Though we are especially passionate about cold-hardy yuccas, agaves (century plants) and cacti, Yucca Pointe will offer virtually unlimited options of landscape features to cater to the customer’s needs and preferences.
If you think xeriscapes have to be dull and drab, think again! Yucca Pointe can bring your landscape to life with dramatic combinations of succulent plants, drought-tolerant trees, shrubs, grasses and flowering plants, stones, drift-wood features, and wood or rock mulch. Many of these plants are evergreen, adding much-needed color to your property in the winter time.
Who can benefit from a landscape upgrade from Yucca Pointe? Almost anyone, from homeowners to commercial property owners looking for functional, water-wise landscapes that are unique and aesthetically appealing. And, without the need for expensive sprinkler systems and corresponding high water bills, our landscapes can pay for themselves rather quickly.

Our Plants
Our Plants
We are proud to offer nice selection of unique and cold-hardy yuccas, agaves, and cacti. Some of these "tree yucca" species (unlike Oklahoma yuccas, they actually form trunks) grow to heights of over 10 ft and can make dramatic architectural specimens in your landscape. The "Spanish bayonet" yucca species (such as Yucca faxoniana) are quite dangerous and should be planted in areas where they will not interfere with human traffic, while the leaves of other species (such as Yucca rostrata) are more forgiving. All of them are very beautiful and very xeric (use little water). We can advise you on which species may be a good choice for your landscape. A good variety of species is important for a natural looking xeriscape, and we incorporate a huge array of ornamental grasses, shrubs, perennial flowering plants, and trees into our landscapes. An artistically arranged xeriscape with a good variety of plants is the most aesthetically pleasing, and the most beneficial for garden pollinators such as birds, bees and butterflies. We can order almost any plant type to meet your needs. Come by our headquarters at 2220 E. 6th Ave to view our inventory, or give us a call at (405) 372-8733 to set up a site visit.
Boulders and Stones
Boulders and Stones
Boulder and stones are invaluable components to a striking xeriscape. We have the equipment to move and install large boulders up to 7000 pounds, though most of our customers will prefer to budget for slightly smaller ones. The boulders create an excellent background and enhance the three-dimensionality of the landscape. Smaller stones are just as important for a natural look, and can even be used as the landscape edging. The rocks are brought to life by the plants around them, and in turn they create a warm, dry micro-climate for the plants.
Mulch Beds
Mulch Beds
Wood mulch is an excellent ground cover because it moderates soil temperature, holds moisture, and adds organic matter to the soil as it decomposes. It also helps to control weeds. Trees whose root systems have been mulched grow faster and healthier than trees whose roots compete with grass or suffer the erosive effects of bare ground. Having a mulch bed installed is a viable alternative to dealing with high maintenance shade grasses such as fescue. Mulch beds can be aesthetically pleasing as well, involving decorative rocks, suitable plants, driftwood, and other features. Yucca Pointe uses mulch that is made at Nate's Tree Service from locally acquired trees, making it very environmentally friendly. Visit natestreeservice.com for more details on our mulch products, or give us a call at (405) 372-8733. We can schedule a free site visit and make recommendations to enhance your property.
